The Associate Vice Chancellor for Resource Administration, Academic Affairs (AVC-RA) is the chief financial and administrative officer for Academic Affairs, has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Campus Chief Financial Officer, and serves as a primary resource consultant for the Vice Chancellors reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs (EVC), i.e., VC Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (VC EDI), and VC Student Affairs (VC SA).
- Plans and leads projects and initiatives in support of Academic Affairs’ broad instructional, research, and outreach mission. Sets and guides priorities, and coordinates interrelated projects among functional areas. Serves as the key administrative liaison between the EVC and other areas of Academic Affairs including the Academic Divisions, Professional Schools, Colleges, Academic Support Units (Library, Academic Computing, Graduate Studies, Summer Session, Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), Academic Integrity), EVC Offices (Academic Personnel, Undergraduate Dean, Institutional Research, Stuart Collection), and Extended Studies and Public Programs.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Expert knowledge and extensive experience in analysis of complex financial data to determine financial feasibility and institutional risk, formulation and implementation of creative solutions, financial and programmatic modeling, and evaluating and developing business models for self-supporting activities
- Skills in establishing and implementing customer service standards.
- Excellent skills to work collaboratively and act persuasively in sensitive situations; skills in conflict management techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of organizational theory and ability to translate into practice and advanced knowledge of organizational consulting.
- Able to interpret and communicate, both verbally and in writing, highly complex, and often highly technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Advanced skills in strategy development, systems planning and change management.
- In-Depth knowledge of policies and procedures of public and private funding and accounting standards
- Excellent ability to establish metrics for department and employee goals which measure effectiveness of contributions to efficient operations of department. Excellent leadership abilities to oversee multiple functions or departments through subordinate managers.
Qualification & Experience:
- Extensive experience working with Data and Reporting Systems such as; Corporate budgeting and financial reporting systems, Financial Information Systems, Payroll and HR System, Data Warehouses, and Student Information Systems
- Advanced Degree in Public Administration, Finance, or Business or a minimum of ten years related business experience in a research oriented academic environment or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
